KC Streetcar Constructors to Move Rail for Track Construction

Crews will work in the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 3, in order to minimize impacts to the traveling public.

(Kansas City, MO) - Date changed from Monday, Tuesday, July 2 to Wednesdsay, July 3 due to weather. KC Streetcar Constructors will move four strings of rail from the staging area near 49th Street and Brookside Boulevard. The rail will be pulled into the existing traffic control on Main Street near 46th Street.

WHEN: For the safety of all and to limit disruptions to the traveling public on Brookside Boulevard and Main Street, this work is scheduled to begin at 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, and will be complete by 7 a.m.

WHERE: KC Streetcar Constructors will pull the rail from the rail storage area north on Brookside Boulevard into the existing traffic control setup on Main Street near 46th Street.

Cross traffic at the Brookside Boulevard intersections of 51st Street, 49th Street, Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard, and cross traffic at the Main Street intersections of 46th Street and 45th Street will be temporarily halted until rail, equipment, and personnel have cleared the intersection. Officers with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department will assist with traffic control during this process to facilitate a safe and efficient operation.
