KC Streetcar Constructors to Move Rail for Track Construction

Crews will work in the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 20 to minimize impacts to the traveling public.

Crews move rail from the rail storage area at Grand Boulevard in the early morning hours of Monday, May 15.

(Kansas City, MO) - KC Streetcar Constructors will pull at least 1,920 feet of rail from the rail staging area at 51st Street and Brookside Boulevard. The rail will be pulled into the existing traffic control on the east side of Main Street near 34th Street.

WHO: KC Streetcar Constructors in conjunction with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department.

WHEN: For the safety of all and to limit disruptions to the traveling public on Main Street, this work is scheduled to begin at 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, and will be complete by 7 a.m.

WHERE: KC Streetcar Constructors will be pulling rail from 51st Street north on Main Street into the traffic control set up on the east side of Main Street near 34th Street.

Cross-traffic at the Main Street intersections of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard, 46th Street, 45th Street, 43rd Street, 41st Street, 39th Street, 38th Street, 37th Street, 36th Street, Armour Boulevard, 34th Terrace, and 34th Street will be temporarily halted until the rail, equipment and personnel have cleared the intersection. Officers with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department will assisting with traffic control during this process to facilitate a safe and efficient operation.
