KC Streetcar Constructors to Move Rail for Track Construction

Crews will work in the early morning hours of Thursday, September 21 to minimize impacts to the traveling public.

(Kansas City, MO) - KC Streetcar Constructors will pull 1,600 feet of rail from the rail staging area near 51st Street and Brookside Boulevard. The rail will be pulled into the existing traffic control on the east side of Main Street near 37th Street.

WHO: KC Streetcar Constructors in conjunction with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department.

WHEN: For the safety of all and to limit disruptions to the traveling public on Main Street, this work is scheduled to begin at 3 a.m. on Thursday, September 21, and will be complete by 7 a.m.

WHERE: KC Streetcar Constructors will pull the rail from the rail storage area north on Main Street into the existing traffic control setup on the east side of Main Street near 37th Street.

Cross-traffic at the Main Street intersections of 51st Street, 49th Street, Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard, 46th Street, 45th Street, 43rd Street, 41st Street, 40th Street, 39th Street, 38th Street, and 37th Street will be temporarily halted until the rail, equipment and personnel have cleared the intersection. Officers with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department will assist with traffic control during this process to facilitate a safe and efficient operation.
