KC Streetcar Constructors to Move Rail For Track Construction
Crews will work before morning rush hour on Friday, November 18 to minimize traffic impacts.
(Kansas City, MO) - KC Streetcar Constructors will pull 1,600 feet of rail from the rail staging area at 27th Street and Grand Boulevard. The rail will be pulled into the existing traffic control near West 30th Street and Main Street during the early morning hours to minimize traffic impacts. 800 feet of rail will be installed in the southbound lanes of traffic on Main Street between 31st Street and West 31st Terrace.
WHO: KC Streetcar Constructors in conjunction with the Kansas City Missouri Police Department.
WHEN: For the safety of all and to limit disruptions to the traveling public on Main Street, this work is scheduled to begin at 3:30 a.m. on Friday, November 18.
WHERE: KC Streetcar Constructors will be pulling the rail from Grand Boulevard, south on Main Street toward West 31st Terrace, then pulled back to the north in the existing traffic control setup on the west side of Main Street near 31st Street.
Cross-traffic at the Main Street intersections of 27th Street, Warwick Trafficway, and 31st Street will be temporarily halted until the rail, equipment and personnel have cleared the intersection. Officers with the Kansas City Missouri Police Department will be assisting with traffic control during this operation to facilitate a safe and efficient operation.
