KC Streetcar Constructors to Move Rail for Track Construction

Crews will work in the early morning hours on Thursday, December 15, to minimize traffic impacts. 

Kansas City, Missouri - KC Streetcar Constructors will pull 1,600 feet of rail from the rail staging area at 27th Street and Grand Boulevard. The rail will be pulled into the existing traffic control on the west side of Main Street between Linwood Boulevard and West 34th Street before rush hour to minimize traffic impacts.

WHO: KC Streetcar Constructors in conjunction with the Kansas City Missouri Police Department.

WHEN: For the safety of all and to limit disruptions to the traveling public on Main Street, this work is scheduled to begin at 5 a.m. on Thursday, December 15. 

WHERE: KC Streetcar Constructors will be pulling the rail from Grand Boulevard, south on Main Street toward West 34th Street, then pulled back to the north in the existing traffic control setup on the west side of Main Street near Linwood Boulevard. 

Cross-traffic at the Main Street intersections of 27th Street, Warwick Trafficway, 31st Street, Linwood Boulevard and West 34th Street will be temporarily halted until the rail, equipment and personnel have cleared the intersection. Officers with the Kansas City Missouri Police Department will assist with traffic control during this process to facilitate a safe and efficient operation.
