KC Streetcar Constructors to Move Rail for Track Construction
Crews will work in the early morning hours on Friday, May 5 to minimize traffic impacts.
(Kansas City, MO) - KC Streetcar Constructors will pull at least 300 feet of rail from the rail staging area at 51st Street and Brookside Boulevard. The rail will be pulled into the existing traffic control on the west side of Main Street between 44th Street and 45th Street.
WHO: KC Streetcar Constructors in conjunction with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department.
WHEN: For the safety of all and to limit disruptions to the traveling public on Brookside Boulevard and Main Street, this work is scheduled to begin at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, May 5 and is estimated to be complete by 7 a.m.
WHERE: KC Streetcar Constructors will be pulling the rail from Brookside Boulevard north on Main Street into the traffic control setup on the west side of Main Street between 44th Street and 45th Street.
Cross-traffic at the Brookside Boulevard intersections of 51st Street, 49th Street, Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Ward Parkway and Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard and Main Street intersections of 46th Street, 45th Street, 44th Street and 43rd Street will be temporarily halted until the rail, equipment and personnel have cleared the intersection. Officers with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department will be assisting with traffic control during this process to facilitate a safe and efficient operation.
