KC Streetcar Constructors to Move Rail for Track Construction

Crews will work in the early morning hours on Tuesday, April 4 to minimize traffic impacts. 

(Kansas City, MO) - KC Streetcar Constructors will pull 1,920 feet of rail from the rail staging area at 51st Street and Brookside Boulevard. The rail will be pulled into the existing traffic control on the west side of Main Street between 40th Street and Vietnam Veterans Memorial Drive.

WHO: KC Streetcar Constructors in conjunction with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department.

KC Streetcar Constructors set rail into the work zone on the west side of Main Street just south of 40th Street on Monday, March 6.

WHEN: For the safety of all and to limit disruptions to the traveling public on Brookside Boulevard and Main Street, this work is scheduled to begin at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4 and is estimated to be complete by 7 a.m.

WHERE: KC Streetcar Constructors will be pulling the rail from Brookside Boulevard north on Main Street then into the traffic control setup on the west side of Main Street near 40th Street and 41st Street.

Cross-traffic at the Brookside Boulevard intersections of 51st Street, 49th Street, Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Ward Parkway and Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard and Main Street intersections of 46th Street, 45th Street, 44th Street, 43rd Street, Vietnam Veterans Memorial Drive, 41st Street, 40th Way and 40th Street will be temporarily halted until the rail, equipment and personnel have cleared the intersection. Officers with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department will be assisting with traffic control during this process to facilitate a safe and efficient operation.
