KC Streetcar Constructors to Move Rail for Track Construction

Crews will work in the early morning hours on Monday, March 27 to minimize traffic impacts. 

(Kansas City, MO) - KC Streetcar Constructors will pull 800 feet of rail from the rail staging area at 27th Street and Grand Boulevard. The rail will be pulled into the existing traffic control on the west side of Main Street near Westport Road.

KC Streetcar Constructors set rail into the work zone on the west side of Main Street just south of 40th Street on Monday, March 6.

WHEN: For the safety of all and to limit disruptions to the traveling public on Main Street, this work is scheduled to begin at 5 a.m. on Monday, March 27 and is estimated to be complete by 7 a.m.

WHERE: KC Streetcar Constructors will be pulling the rail from Grand Boulevard, south on Main Street then into the traffic control setup on the west side of Main Street near Westport Road.

Cross-traffic at the Main Street intersections of 27th Street, Warwick Trafficway, 31st Street, Linwood Boulevard, West 34th Street, Armour Boulevard, 36th Street, 37th Street, 38th Street, 39th Street and Westport Road will be temporarily halted until the rail, equipment and personnel have cleared the intersection. Officers with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department will be assisting with traffic control during this process to facilitate a safe and efficient operation.
