Safety is always a priority, but we’re hyper-focused on it during National Construction Safety Week from May 2-6, 2022. This week is dedicated to reinforcing the focus on safety to eliminate incidents on the job site. Safety is an essential component of a job site, where we take care of each other and people, above all else.

Did you know that every contractor working on the KC Streetcar Main Street Extension must attend a safety orientation before being allowed in the Main Street Extension’s construction zones? Not only do we concentrate on a job well done, but we also support and maintain a safe work environment for both our contractors and people traveling past active construction work. KC Streetcar Constructors wants everyone on the job site and the general public to go home safely every single night.

In addition to multiple safety protocols and daily checks, the KC Streetcar Constructors are excited to take part in National Construction Safety Week by hosting “All Hands Safety Meetings” each morning to review and highlight key topics related to safety. You can follow along on Twitter @BuildKCSC to see what topic we’re covering each day!

To participate in Safety Week, please pay attention and drive safely in work zones! We want you and our workers to make it home safe every day - safety is a team effort.

Know before you go! For the latest updates about construction-related activity, please check out the interactive map and subscribe to receive the Weekly Construction Update emails.
