KC Streetcar Constructors to Move Rail for Northbound Track Work
Kansas City, MO - KC Streetcar Constructors will pull 800 feet of rail from the rail staging area at 27th and Grande to the work zone near Pershing Road and Main Street in the existing traffic control to minimize traffic impacts. The rail will be installed in the northbound lanes of traffic between Pershing Road and 27th Street. The KC Streetcar Constructors have installed more than 2,100 feet of track since the project broke ground on April 6, 2022.
WHO: KC Streetcar Constructors in conjunction with the Kansas City Missouri Police Department.
WHEN: For the safety of all and to limit disruptions to the traveling public on Main Street, this work is scheduled to begin at 5 a.m. on Thursday, June 30.
WHERE: KC Streetcar Constructors will be pulling the rail from Grand Boulevard, south on Main Street toward Warwick Trafficway, then pulled back to the north in the existing traffic control setup on the east side of Main Street.
Main Street will remain open during the rail pull. Cross-traffic at the intersection of 27th Street and Main Street, along with Grand Boulevard and Main Street, will be temporarily halted until the rail, equipment and personnel have cleared the intersection. During this activity, the backup alarms on all equipment will be switched to white noise to keep the activity as quiet as possible.
