One year ago, Kansas City gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of the KC Streetcar Main Street Extension and it has been full speed ahead ever since. 

Crews will pull 1,920 feet of rail in the early morning hours on Tuesday, April 4, to minimize traffic impacts.

Crews will pull 800 feet of rail in the early morning hours on Monday, March 27, to minimize traffic impacts.

On Monday, March 20, KC Streetcar Constructors will begin bridge work on Brookside Boulevard between Martin Luther King Boulevard and Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard. This work is anticipated to take several months to complete.

On Monday, March 20, KC Streetcar Constructors will begin underground electrical work on the east side of Main Street between 31st Street and Linwood Boulevard. This work will necessitate traffic pattern changes for the traveling public - all vehicular traffic will be shifted to the west side of Main Street from Warwick Boulevard to 34th Street.

KC Streetcar Constructors to move rail for track construction on Monday, February 20, in the early morning hours to minimize traffic impacts.

KC Streetcar Constructors will work in the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 8 to move 800 feet of rail from the rail staging area at 27th Street and Grand Boulevard. The rail will be pulled into the existing traffic control on the west side of Main Street near 37th Street.

The Kite E. Singleton Maintenance Yard is undergoing a significant expansion to accommodate the growing streetcar line.

Sparks started flying this week when the KC Streetcar Constructors started welding the remaining rail needed for the KC Streetcar Main Street Extension project.
